In summary, SPoTLIghT is a great tool for mapping the tumor microenvironment from H&E slides, paving the way for new spatial biomarkers with the potential to improve patient outcome predictions. Huge thanks to first authors @LapuenteSantana & Joan Kant for their work! 🧵 8/8
1/5 Now published @Nature_NPJ our paper leveraging multicellular computational modeling to study the effect of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) on the prostate tumor microenvironment (TME). Great work of @Maisaavg @anniek_zaalberg @JJPKneppers
with @zwartlab and BergmanLab
Understanding these complex interactions within the TME through computational modeling could pave the way for novel therapeutic strategies targeting the TME to combat CRPC. Read the paper rdcu.be/dzc1d. @TUeindhoven @NKI_nl
Check out our latest work showing how heterogeneity in the TME is functionally associated with immune response. Great collaboration with @Francesca_Fin_ group, check her thread for more info

1/8: In our new work with @zwartlab and Bergman's lab @NKI_nl, Margot Passier led the development of an agent-based model of a prostatic acinus to study prostate cancer (PCa) development in silico. #prostatecancer#cancerresearch @TUeindhoven
8/8: Our study sheds light on the complex and multifactorial nature of PCa development, and highlights the importance of understanding the role of the tumor microenvironment in tumor initiation and progression.
