Parteneriatul strategic dintre România și Statele Unite ale Americii se consolidează permanent, nu numai prin importante proiecte economice și de securitate, ci și prin programe educaționale de impact pentru tinerii noștri. Din această perspectivă, reluarea programului Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) în anul academic 2026–2027 este o veste foarte bună pentru educația românească și pentru relația strategică dintre România și Statele Unite. Acesta este unul dintre cele mai competitive programe de schimb pentru liceeni din lume, bazat pe merit. Mulți dintre participanți au reușit ulterior să urmeze cariere de succes în administrația publică, dar și în mediul privat. 20 de liceeni români vor avea astfel oportunitatea de a studia într-un liceu american și de a locui alături de o familie americană, ceea ce înseamnă să experimenteze în mod autentic viața cotidiană din SUA. Programul FLEX a putut fi reluat datorită acordului de co-finanțare semnat între Ministerul Educației și Cercetării și American Councils for International Education. Interesul excepțional al liceenilor români – 2.883 de candidați pentru 20 de locuri – demonstrează cât de puternică este dorința tinerilor noștri de a se forma prin educație de calitate, deschidere internațională și valori democratice. În aceste zile, încep procedurile de selecție care se vor desfășura pe parcursul mai multor luni. Le urez mult succes tuturor și îi felicit pentru curaj, ambiție și dorința de a-și depăși limitele. Indiferent de rezultat, fiecare aplicație este o dovadă de încredere că educația oferă cele mai bune perspective pentru a-ți construi un viitor. România are nevoie de cetățeni bine pregătiți, deschiși și conectați la lume, iar programe precum FLEX reprezintă un instrument esențial de apropiere între societăți, dar și o ocazie unică a tinerilor de a se maturiza.
