The kind of work we love to see. Keeping dangerous drugs off the streets and criminals behind bars. Keep it up, @JSOPIO.
More deadly drugs are off our streets after our Narcotics Unit detectives removed more than 7,000 potentially fatal doses of Fentanyl and other illicit drugs from a bust in the Magnolia Gardens area. Our detectives learned our suspect, 32-year-old Allen Johnson, was selling drugs at a motel off Edgewood Avenue. Our detectives worked to build evidence against Johnson and receive a search warrant for his room at the motel. At one point during the investigation, Johnson moved to a different motel off Edgewood Avenue, continuing to sell drugs from the new room. Our detectives didn’t give up. We received a search warrant for his room, and on Friday, May 15, our Narcotics Unit and our SWAT Team served the warrant. Here’s what we found: -14.8 grams of Fentanyl (7,400 potentially fatal doses) -333.9 grams of Cathinone -50.9 grams of Powder Cocaine -22.8 grams of Crack Cocaine -20 grams of Methamphetamine -2.5 pounds of Marijuana We arrested Johnson for a dozen felony charges. If you believe someone is selling drugs in your community, speak out. We want to know. Report any suspicious activity to us by calling 904.630.0500. Our Narcotics Unit investigates every tip we receive, and we will stop at nothing to get these dangerous drugs off our streets.

Strong teamwork and steady leadership like this help keep Florida’s waterways safe. Great work, @keyssheriff !
A Sheriff’s Office Marine Deputy and U.S. Customs Border Protection Agent were able to stop a runaway vessel on May 31, 2026, off Islamorada, Florida after its occupants were ejected unharmed — the second such incident to occur in Monroe County in less than a month. Multiple juveniles were ejected from a flats-style boat at approximately 1 p.m. in waters off Mile Marker 89. A good Samaritan picked up the juveniles. None were hurt; however, the unmanned vessel was traveling at approximately 35 mph in a congested area on a busy afternoon. Sheriff’s Office Marine Deputy Nelson Sanchez, a CBP vessel, and a TowBoatUS vessel responded. An entangling device slowed the boat, but not enough to stop it. Deputy Sanchez was able to approach the runaway vessel and match its speed and course while getting close enough for a CBP agent (who boarded the Sheriff’s Office boat) to reach its controls and stop it with a long boat hook. The incident came after a separate, but similar incident on May 15, 2026, in which two subjects were ejected from a flats boat near Mile Marker 73. Those subjects were also picked up by a good Samaritan unharmed. The Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and TowBoatUS responded to that incident and stopped the vessel by using an entangling device. “The summer boating season is here,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay. “Now is the time to revisit safety procedures and remind yourself of marine laws and regulations. I want to commend Deputy Nelson Sanchez and our law enforcement partners who responded to these incidents. They could have ended very differently.” Another video of the 053126 incident is up at the Sheriff's Office YouTube page: youtube.com/watch?v=wEnVvPtK… For all boating safety regulations and tips go to myfwc.com

There is zero tolerance for impaired driving. Respect to the work being done by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office to keep Duval's roads safe.
Join D.U.I. Officer Ernesto Valerio for a ride along! The cameras were rolling on one of the busiest drinking holidays of the year: Cinco de Mayo. @news4jax rode with Officer Valerio to learn more about our D.U.I. enforcement and keeping everyone on the road safe. Throughout his 22-years of service with the agency, Officer Valerio has arrested more than 1,400 impaired drivers, and rarely does a day pass where he doesn’t stop at least one person who shouldn’t be driving. We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again: do not, under any circumstances, drink and drive. Do not take any drugs, even if they’re prescribed to you, if they can impair your ability to drive safely. It’s not just your life on the line. You’re putting the lives of your passengers, other motorists, and pedestrians in serious danger by getting behind the wheel. Drive safe, and sober, Duval.
