Three days from now, we open a conversation the Americas urgently need. Across the region, civic actors are navigating a moment defined by tightening political pressure, shrinking space for participation, and an information environment increasingly shaped by distortion. At the same time, the global funding landscape that once sustained democratic action is shifting beneath our feet. The result is a profound test of how civil society adapts, protects its role, and reimagines the foundations of democratic resilience. This Friday, we gather for the webinar “From Dependency to Resilience: Rethinking Democratic Action in the Americas Amid Shifting Funding Landscapes.” This session marks the start of the #GDCAmericasRegionalMonth’s programming and is designed for organizations confronting these transitions head‑on. Together, we will examine emerging models of sustainability, new approaches to collaboration, and the creative strategies communities are using to stay effective under constraint.
