I just watched a woman who gave 35 years of her life to the State of Florida. Her badge # read 100. She wasn’t a DEI hire. She wasn’t pushed in by politics or quotas. She was hired because she was competent… disciplined… and built for the job. And after 35 years, she was able to retire with honor in a Republican-controlled state. A state that still values law enforcement… a state that rewards service instead of punishing it. Tallahassee may lean Democrat as a city, but the Highway Patrol she served under operates in a Republican-led state that protects order, merit, and courage. Lieutenant Thompson, I salute you. Thank you for your service and your unwavering dedication. Can we all give this woman a thank you, an amen, or a salute? 🫡 Did you notice the breast cancer survivor ribbon? @GovRonDeSantis @realDonaldTrump @FOP_FHP #SilentMajoritySpeaks #AStoneGroove #endoftour

FHP leading the way yet again — let’s get these guys a pay hike!
20 May 2025
Come to Florida illegally, get deported. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to lead the illegal immigration enforcement effort. The FHP has processed nearly 1,300 illegal immigrants since March. This includes immigrants who had criminal histories that included battery and burglary.

Thank you, @jweinsierWPLG for your reporting on our pay issues. Hopefully, shining a light on the FHP budgetary problems will inspire @Daniel_PerezFL and the FL Legislature to solve the problem. local10.com/news/local/2025/…

It's not just body armor they want to de-fund. It's cars, raises and the slashing of almost 200 Trooper and dispatcher positions. FHP ranks lowest in pay for Troopers nationally, and @Daniel_PerezFL intends to do nothing to fix it in retaliation for FHP answering Gov DeSantis' call on immigration.
In January of this year, @GovRonDeSantis called a special session to address illegal immigration. The Speaker had a different priority -- his first action was to lead the charge to override the governor's veto of $56M in funding for 'legislative operations.' So he wants to cut funding for things that benefit FLORIDA (water quality, body armor for FHP, infrastructure improvements) but he is all for more gov't spending that directly benefits HIM.

FHP protects Florida with pride. Lawmakers fail to support them. Calling for an audit of the Florida Legislature’s funding decisions. Refusing to properly support and compensate FHP. Why can’t they properly pay its Troopers? FHP deserves better-and so do the citizens they protect

What a fortuitous turn of events that the Florida Legislature is at an impasse on the budget. It will give @FLSenateGOP @FLGOPMajority time to draft a plan for #FHP Troopers that complies with @realDonaldTrump 's Executive Order to increase LEO pay before they reconvene in June. whitehouse.gov/presidential-…

A message from our Lodge President, Spencer Ross: One couldn’t help but notice the remarkable efficiency and sense of urgency with which many important bills have moved through legislative chambers this session. It’s truly impressive how swiftly they have managed to pass and sign into law measures such as: •HB 157, updating how people are handed legal paperwork (because apparently that couldn’t wait). •HB 479, addressing minor hit-and-run incidents (but not the shortage of Troopers to investigate them). •HB 597, ensuring schools have emergency diabetes protocols (an important cause, no doubt). •HB 615, giving landlords and tenants the revolutionary ability to send emails (welcome to the 21st century). •HB 791, improving safe surrender options for infants (actually a very compassionate move). •HB 1173, polishing up trust law for estate planning (for all our Florida trust administrators out there). •HB 1195, authorizing fentanyl test strips (a critical tool, especially with no Troopers left to enforce drug laws). •And of course, the sweeping immigration legislation signed in February, which somehow made it from proposal to law faster than a Trooper can write a speeding ticket. All of these reflect a commendable dedication to governance. And yet, amidst this legislative flurry, one issue continues to sit... motionless: Funding for Florida Troopers. Florida Troopers patrol over 12,000 miles of highway, respond to fatal crashes, enforce DUI laws, provide support during hurricanes, and fill the gaps when local agencies call for help. The ones that are praised during campaign season and ignored during budget season. Why is funding the very people tasked with keeping Florida’s citizens and visitors alive on the road apparently less urgent than tweaking landlord email rules? There are fewer than 1,800 active Troopers in a state with over 22 million residents and 140 million annual visitors. That’s 1 Trooper for every 77,000 people. Meanwhile, Florida has a budget surplus large enough to fund a moon landing. Dedicated Troopers protect Florida….Who is protecting our Troopers? And yet, #FHP Troopers are ranked the 47th lowest paid State Troopers in the nation, and below the average pay for Law Enforcement in the State of Florida. #FundFloridaTroopers
Federal deficits vs Florida surpluses Florida’s surpluses have been at record levels in recent years even as the state has enacted record tax cuts and dedicated billions to accelerating infrastructure projects needed to serve a growing state.

As the 2 chambers of Florida's Congress are locked in debate over this year's budget, we would like to remind @FLSenateGOP and @FLGOPMajority that #FloridaHighwayPatrol Troopers are brave men and women who risk their lives every day for the safety of Florida's citizens and tourists; not line items to be slashed. When Tallahassee calls, #FHP Troopers are there. From helping to protect our nation's southern border to Hurricane and disaster relief, to dignitary protection, to event security and civil disturbances, when we are called upon, we mobilize, but when #Troopers send a call back to Tallahassee asking for fair compensation, more manpower, and better equipment, the silence is deafening. As the state adds thousands of miles of state highway to service its exploding population, keeping #FHP Troopers understaffed and ranked at 47th lowest paid State Troopers in the nation is a disgrace. A Trooper working 40 hours a week, should not have to put in 32 extra hours of overtime or off-duty in order to keep a roof over their family's head and food on their family table, but that is the sad reality for many of us. Since our voices are not being heard by our representatives locally, we are asking for all blue family with followings like @DonutOperator, @TheOfficerTatum, @AngryCops, @OfficerDaniels and many others not mentioned please amplify this message nationally. @GovRonDeSantis #FundFloridaTroopers
