OFFICIAL LEGAL STATEMENT
“The Release Is Only the Beginning — Legal Accountability Has No Borders”
We confirm, with measured relief, the release of my wife, a citizen of the Republic of Cyprus, coinciding with sustained international legal engagement across multiple jurisdictions.
We formally record our sincere appreciation to the United States Department of State, the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, the Swiss Federal authorities, and European human rights institutions — including the European Court of Human Rights — for their professional engagement and formal receipt of our submissions, which have played a significant role and continue to be closely monitored.
It is formally recorded that serious legal concerns have arisen regarding the extent to which the competent authorities of the Republic of Cyprus fully met the standards expected under their international human rights obligations in circumstances directly affecting the fundamental rights and personal liberty of one of their nationals. These concerns have been documented and submitted to relevant international judicial and oversight mechanisms in accordance with applicable legal standards.
Let the following be clear:
Our fundamental rights remain under active legal review. Our lawful inheritance and assets remain under contested control exercised by parties whose interests and operations are connected to Qatar. These matters are subject to ongoing legal proceedings and regulatory review across multiple jurisdictions.
Relevant legal frameworks — including international human rights protections, cross-border asset recovery mechanisms, and Magnitsky-type accountability regimes — are being examined in connection with these matters.
The scope of the proceedings extends well beyond what has been publicly disclosed. International legal processes of this nature proceed independently of political pressure, intimidation, or delay.
We call upon international Human Rights, Women’s Rights, and Children’s Rights organisations to monitor these developments and engage where appropriate within their mandates. All lawful remedies under international and domestic law will continue to be pursued — without exception — until full justice, restoration of rights, and complete legal accountability are achieved.
This statement serves as a formal public record of ongoing legal processes and does not constitute a comprehensive disclosure of all facts, evidence, or actions under review. All rights are expressly reserved.
