Hrs after @Indemb_Muscat No boat has been arrived till now. Communicating the family is one side but taking out the mortal of late Brother Nishant from MT Celestial must on priority. @dgshipping_IN @MEAIndia @OMAN_MSC #MTCelestial
A young Indian seafarer’s life cost just 10 Omani Riyal (~₹2,473) — the medical visa/evacuation fee available in an hour off Duqm. Nishanth Uirthanathan (35) died on shadow tanker MT Celestial due to shipowner negligence. Delays in help & failure to arrange mortal remains show clear intent. Questions also for Omani authorities. RIP Nishanth. Demand accountability @Indemb_Muscat @shipmin_india @OMAN_MSC @PMOIndia @DrSJaishankar

#MTCelestial (off Oman coast) 35-year-old Second Officer Nishanth Uirthanathan (Tamil Nadu) passed away on June 11 after falling seriously ill. His body has remained onboard for over 2 days with no proper refrigeration. Crew is using cold water bottles in a desperate attempt to slow decomposition — a horrifying and health-risking situation. Despite repeated distress calls, timely medical evacuation was reportedly delayed amid regional tensions. FSUI and the captain are urgently demanding body preservation/repatriation, crew support, and full investigation into the response failures. RIP Nishanth. Deepest condolences to his family and crew. Authorities must act immediately. @Indemb_Muscat @MEAIndia @DrSJaishankar @shipmin_india @dgshipping_IN @IMOHQ @ITFglobalunion @ilo @OMAN_MSC

Mumbai, Maharashtra: On the bodies of the Indian mariners have not yet been brought back due to procedural delays, Forward Seamen's Union of India (FSUI) General Secretary Manoj Yadav says, "Look, in the strike that took place on the Settebello two days ago, three Indians lost their lives. Even now, their mortal remains have not reached their homes. We are in touch with all three families and are regularly speaking to them... However, that news was completely false. The way it spread throughout the night created panic. As of today, there are around 18–20 Indian seafarers in that region. What is most concerning is that during this past week, attacks have taken place on three ships..."

Urgent Alert to @narendramodi Ji & @MEAIndia Heightened security risks at Shinas Anchorage / OPL, Oman. Merchant vessels, especially Indian & Indian-interest tankers, face serious threats due to military activities, vessel attacks & GPS spoofing. Recent incidents involving: M.T. MARIVEX M.T. SATABELLO M.T. JALVEER Request immediate advisories to Indian vessels to avoid the area, enhanced diplomatic & naval support for our seafarers & energy security. #WATCH | Mumbai | On MEA dismissing reports of a military strike on vessel Liaki Freedom with Indian crew members, General Secretary, Forward Seamen's Union of India (FSUI), Manoj Yadav says, "... When such news spreads, it causes a lot of tension and puts pressure on the seafarers in that region... I have spoken with a couple of crew members. They feel mentally troubled. They do not believe that an attack can be attempted either by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) or by the US. I am continuously trying to raise this issue.... It's definitely the job of the Indian government to find out who is trying to create chaos or tension for seafarers. Their family members are getting disturbed, and they are continuously trying to contact our offices... Such rumours demoralise the new seafarers who are willing to replace those seafarers who have completed their tenure within that area..."

Another tragic incident for seafarers. , a 2nd Officer on #MTCelestial passed away on the 11th at 1800 hrs due to lack of timely medical support. Two days later, mortal remains remain onboard without proper preservation. Port #Duqm, #Oman has shut down WiFi/comms, with authorities unresponsive. Who cares for seafarers? They keep global trade moving but face neglect in medical care & repatriation amid conflicts they have nothing to do with. Demand urgent action for evacuation, body preservation & dignified return. RIP to all lost souls. ⚓🙏 #MTSettebello #MTCelestial #SeafarerSafety #IndianSeafarers @Indemb_Muscat @meaindia1 @shipmin_india @IMOHQ @ITFglobalunion @dgshipping_IN

Sorry for post with photos. But seems threat are serious to worry. These men were not terrorists — they were innocent seafarers, hardworking Indian crew members who paid with their lives for something they had nothing to do with. The crew of the MT Settebello (Palau-flagged tanker) were caught in the tragic incident off the coast of Oman near the Strait of Hormuz. Three Indian seafarers lost their lives: • Aditya Sharma (Cadet) • Shivanand Chaurashiya (Fitter) • Patnala Suresh (Chief Engineer) 25 others were rescued including 21 Indian. They were simply doing their jobs at sea. Our deepest condolences to their families, loved ones, and the entire maritime community. Seafarers keep global trade moving — they deserve safety, not to become collateral in conflicts. Rest in peace. ⚓🙏 #MTSettebello #IndianSeafarers #JusticeForSeafarers @ITFglobalunion @IMOHQ @shipmin_india

Serious questions on MT Jalveer: GPS failure, missile strike near steering room at 7:15 AM local time. Were warnings received? Indian seafarers’ safety can’t be compromised. FSUI demands accountability & protection! 🇮🇳 #SaveIndianSeafarers@IMOHQ @ITFglobalunion
