Fuel Buy Down in Action at Otter Creek Country Store
Today wasn’t just about cheaper fuel—it was about making a statement.
At Otter Creek Country Store, drivers saw real relief at the pump as part of a Fuel Buy Down event designed to highlight how rising fuel taxes impact everyday Iowans. Events like this show just how quickly costs can add up—and how meaningful even a temporary break can be for families and small businesses.
The discounted fuel event also served as a protest of proposed state fuel tax increases, bringing attention to the growing concern over affordability at the pump. You can complete the AFP - Iowa form to tell legislators "NO" to fuel tax increases.

We’re proud to stand with partners and communities across Iowa to raise awareness and provide real, immediate savings. When policies drive up costs, it’s Iowans who feel it most—and today was about putting money back in their pockets.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the effort.
You can find us tomorrow, March 27 at Iowa City Fast Break from 11am-1:30 PM for $1 off a gallon (gas only, no diesel, no additional containers, limit 20 gallons per vehicle).
