Stop asking AI to write for you, rather ask it to teach you. Today @5pmSAST @thabangline and I will challenge one of the most dangerous trends in education & research: outsourcing thinking to AI. We’ll show you how AI can become a tutor, supervisor, reviewer & coach that helps you develop your own voice, your own arguments and your own intellectual confidence. 📍 youtube.com/@Fabacademic #AI #Writing #CriticalThinking #SundaySessions #FabAcademicUnfiltered

A lot of people are using AI to write & this puts them at a disadvantage. Tomorrow, @thabangline and I will show you how to use AI to teach you how to write. Learn how AI can become your writing coach, research assistant, critical friend & even a supervision support tool, without doing the thinking for you. You will never be brave if you don’t allow yourself to get hurt, you will never learn if you’re scared of making mistakes and you will never be successful if you’re too afraid of failure. True growth lives on the other side of discomfort. Embrace the risk, keep rising, and let every fall teach you how to fly. The brave don’t avoid the storm, they learn to dance in it. #SummitingKilimanjaro #DoHardThings #WeCanAllWin

While some people use AI to save minutes, others use it to change lives. Today you’ll meet a young African innovator who looked at a challenge millions had accepted as normal and asked a different question: “What if it didn’t have to be this way?” The answer is now attracting global attention. Join us at 5pm SAST. 📍 youtube.com/@Fabacademic #SundaySessions #FabAcademicUnfiltered #AIForThePeople #AfricanInnovation #YouthInnovation #TechnologyWithPurpose

As an 11-year-old boy, Elihle made a promise to his visually impaired grandmother that one day, he would find a way to help people like her live more independently. Today that promise is Spectacles4TheBlind SA, AI-powered smart glasses helping visually impaired people navigate the world in multiple South African languages. Now he is shortlisted among the Top 150 startups globally for the Leap Startup East competition in Hong Kong. Tomorrow, Thabang and I speak with him. Five things I am grateful for today: 1. Life: How cool it is that I'm actually still here, in this world, making waves? Four years ago this time I was wondering whether I will still be here today. 2. Family: They really are my foundation – they stand by me through thick and thin. 3. Health: With my blood pressure at 120/77, I have nothing to complain about. 4. Choice: I love that I have a multitude of choices and every day I can choose to be a happy positive person. Fabulous! 5. Acceptance: I'm so thankful to those who accept me for who I am. Its Friday! What are you grateful for? #GratitudeFriday

As we bravely wage war against illegal immigrants, may we not forget Constantia, Bishopscourt, Parklands, and the like. There’s more than illegal immigration hiding there, so those are excellent places to start. My hope is that EVERYONE is treated as a suspect because an illegal immigrant is an illegal immigrant, whether they come from Burundi, Cambodia or France, and whether they live in shacks or mansions….as long as they are here illegally, then zonke bonke….one side👉🏾 Being poor, black or African CANNOT be the “obvious clue” that someone is here illegally. If really, the plan is to treat skin colour, class or accent as “symptoms” of illegality, then we should at least have the courage to admit that our issue is not illegal immigration…..sixabene nje nobumnyama. Izingane zikaJan van Riebeeck ziyakwazi ukuvota la, noma ziphethe amaPassport aseYurope, kodwa lokho akusihluphi neze! But when it comes to izingane zikaMzilikazi, asifuni ukuzwa ngisho iphunga lazo, we immediately assume illegality and demand papers🤷🏽‍♀️ It’s not yet Uhuru, but we have hope.

I reject the derogatory term “amakwerekwere” completely. It is a slur used to insult fellow black Africans simply for being from another country. If loving and respecting other black Africans makes me a “kwerekwere”, then I am proudly one and I will never apologise for that. I am against illegal immigration and have said so clearly and consistently. South Africa has every right to secure its borders and enforce its laws. But I will not support xenophobic hatred or the dehumanisation of innocent people who are here legally simply because they are black Africans from other countries. Discrimination based on nationality or skin colour is wrong. We must deal firmly with illegality not turn fellow Africans into enemies. South Africa’s problems will not be solved by attacking people who look like us. Let’s focus on the real issues: rule of law, border control, and building a better country for all South Africans without descending into tribalism or xenophobia. Enough with the slurs.

You don’t have to be everyone’s butterfly. Rather be the bee. Build. Create. Contribute. Focus on your purpose. And when necessary, challenge the status quo, ask uncomfortable questions and defend what you believe is right. Impact matters more than approval. 👗@GiftSenese #Leadership #Purpose #Courage

Never apologise for who you are. Your identity is not a liability to be managed. It is an asset to be leveraged. The things people told you to hide, like your background, accent, culture, age, gender, story, may be the very things that make your contribution unforgettable. Stand tall. Your difference is your strength. #Leadership #Authenticity #OwnYourStory

The mobilisation, based on its framing of problems, DOES invite violence & hate. There is no way it is not going to result into mass looting & bloodshed. We know what we are talking about. We have organised marches since we were teenagers. We have looong engaged in nation scale agitation against - corruption, fees, anti-black racism and white supremacy. We have done nationwide shutdowns, confronted the establishment right from its heart for economic freedom & international solidarity. We are not NEW to this! We know it! We can see Counter-Revolution from far! It will not end well! Above all: it will not have any social or economic benefit from it. Zero! Just a country in ruin! We keep telling you, stop it, but you think you are heroic. Your handlers seek the destabilisation and international isolation of South Africa. And you are handing it to them on a silver platter- it will not end well! There is a BETTER way to deal with your problems: this is not it. You left those who are the cause of your unemployment, poverty and corruption unchallenged. You will only succeed to ruin your country- that is all! Again: I impress on you- stop this movement, it only leads to self-mutilation, self-sabotage and self-ruin

If your self-worth depends on social media approval, strangers will control your peace. Not every opinion deserves access to your mind. Learn to distinguish between feedback, noise, projection and cruelty. Protect your mental health: • Don’t read every comment • Don’t argue with people committed to misunderstanding you • Don’t confuse virality with truth • Don’t hand over your joy to anonymous accounts Social media is not a court of law & trending is not the same as being right. Guard your mind. Protect your peace. Choose your battles wisely. #MentalHealthMatters #FabAcademicInThought #AfricaDay

On this Africa Day, I celebrate our continent with pride but also deep concern. South Africa must address illegal immigration lawfully & responsibly, but violence and xenophobia against fellow Africans can never be the answer. I am deeply troubled by how easily we now scream “Abahambe” at fellow Africans. We cannot build Africa by hating Africans. Let us protect both our sovereignty and our humanity. Today it is “them.” Tomorrow it may be anyone who is seen as different, unwanted or inconvenient. We cannot build Africa by humiliating Africans. South Africa must protect its borders without losing its humanity. Africa must stand together against both illegal immigration and xenophobia. 🌍 #AfricaDay #NoToIllegalImmigrantion #NoToXenophobia #AfricanUnity #Ubuntu #OneAfrica
