Excited to announce that the first paper @HeikeKluever and I started during my PhD is now available at @WEPsocial! We find that exposure to radical right parties in parliament leads coalitions to adopt tougher immigration policies in their joint agreements.

Has #Hamas invasion affected public opinion toward the conflict? By pure coincidence, @miguelmaria and I currently have a survey in the field, measuring who Germans blame for conflict in the ME. The attack has significantly shifted opinion: A majority now blames Palestinians.

Important work on how biased perceptions on tax contributions shape policy preferences!
Do you feel taxed fairly? @fabian_kalf & I find: the rich overestimate their tax contributions relative to the poor & vice versa; once the rich learn that the poor pay more tax than they thought, they increase their willingness to pay tax. @DelorsBerlin

Examining European parliamentary democracies, I show that polarized party systems are associated with higher voter turnout. Exploring the mechanism, I show that negative affect plays a more robust role in predicting participation than positive affect or spatial considerations.
