In Toronto, however, our communication equipment is in dire need for updates and adjustments in order to be more effective at its job. Existing sensors need to be moved or tuned to allow for more accurate detection of vehicles, and new technology can also help.

Toronto currently has transit signal priority, but it's far more limited than what it should be. Walking around the city, you may notice that signals extend green lights if a transit vehicle is approaching. This *is* great, but in many places, it's not enough!

Line 5's top speed is now 80 km/h in tunnels!
Reviewing speed restrictions is 3️⃣ on our ten-point plan, and a great first step to put #Eglinton on the fast track!
Now it’s time for the surface section of Line 5, Line 6 and the #streetcars.

Until last week, #EglintonCrosstown vehicles were limited to 55 km/h in the tunnels, and 30 km/h in underground stations.
Station speeds have also increased to 45 km/h!
