When I was still relatively starting out, I had a viewer who came by a lot, and would join me for open lobbies. They seemed sweet enough and I did not have a lot of experience streaming.
They ended up joining me and a friend for games, then randomly started setting up their own stream which had not been discussed with us, made us wait while they were doing so, and slowly just seemed to attempt to push into every friendgroup I was part of.
I got icked out pretty quickly and just avoided them, but had people later down the line who i had warned about the individual tell me i was right, and that they were talking crap behind my back saying i was jealous of them and that that was why i stopped talking to them.
I've been anxious about making friends with other streamers beyond hello's since then.
I never mind helping newer streamers get started if I'm asked for help but this was like. A nightmare, and I lost a lot of people i considered closer friends to this. 🙃
Do you guys have any bad collab experiences?
My worst one was a couple years ago with a VTuber. We were supposed to play Valorant together, but something came up on their end. They canceled less than an hour before we were scheduled to go live. I get that emergencies happen, so I reached out to reschedule… and got completely ghosted. A short while later, they even unfollowed me.
We had similar-sized audiences, so it wasn’t like I was a nobody to them. I was just left hanging with nothing. I hope they were okay, but it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.
