One of the many FMJ presses in house. This is where the copper cups from the cupping line meet the lead cores from the lead room. They form the projectile using both components at a rate of 2 per stroke. The FMJ projectiles are then washed, polished, ran through an inspection machine to check all the dimensions and then weighed to insure the exact weight.

From deep drawing made in house cups to transforming them into tubes right after the first 5.56 transfer press as seen below. 🏭 From here, they go through wash, body annealing, and pickling. Next up is an inspection machine before heading into another transfer press that forms the shoulder, flash hole, primer pocket, and headstamp. Then it’s off to four high-speed trimmers to cut the extraction groove and overall length.
