In-person event, Lancaster UniversityIn this seminar, I will explore ways in which psychotherapeutic concepts can inform creative and idiosyncratic approaches to qualitative research. Drawing on the work of Carl Rogers Eugene Gendlin, consider how a relational empathic approach interviewing enable collaborative form inquiry that acts as precursor analytic process. Beginning with an image / object elicitation task, interviewer’s aim is implicit unsymbolized experiences by doing so, draw out stories personal meanings collaboratively participants. then describe Gendlin’s Focusing be used ‘felt sense’ data, allowing identification salient phrases handle’ words create evocative lively representations participants’ narratives.
