Thrilled to finally share the work from my PhD where we performed cryo-ET on C. elegans centrosomes. A short thread follows:
biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
Examination of the centrosomal volume revealed a dense, disorganized meshwork forming gel-like structure. Pores in the gel accommodate client proteins, addressing debate on peri-centriolar material architecture.
Please, read through the preprint for details :D I’d also like to thank all my colleagues and collaborators in the Mahamid and Woodruff labs, the ERC for funding, and everyone at EMBL for making it such a great place to work.
Join us on Tuesday, Aug 17, for the upcoming seminar in the Condensate Colloquium Series:
we are excited to have Julie Forman-Kay and @JWoodruffLab as our speakers!
Our cryo lift-out paper is online! Native #ribosome structures inside a #Celegans worm. Congrats to my amazing colleagues Miroslava Schaffer, Julia Mahamid, Stefan Pfeffer, and Jürgen Plitzko. This lift-out makes me hold my breath... every time!😬😮PHEW!😁
