The community of North Belfast is made up of incredibly kind, generous and welcoming people. Today I met with community and youth leaders, representatives from ethnic minority communities, and local residents in Kinnaird, Ardoyne and The Bone to offer my full support following Monday's vicious attack. I also met with health workers in the Mater Hospital to offer my support during these difficult times. In recent days, we have witnessed dangerous and disgraceful racist attacks across the North. There can be absolutely no place in our communities for racism. But what has not been recognised enough is the work being done every day by people at the heart of our communities to support one another. Despite the disgraceful efforts of those seeking to sow hate and division, communities are standing together. That spirit of solidarity represents the very best of us. Thank you to everyone in North Belfast who took the time to speak with me today, and to all those who continue to be a beacon of light during these difficult times.

No parent should have to choose between being by their newborn’s side in neonatal care and paying the bills. The DUP must stop blocking the Good Jobs Bill, which would give parents the support they need when their baby is seriously ill.

It was fantastic to attend the launch of Fermanagh GAA’s ambitious new 2026-2030 strategic plan in Enniskillen last night. The £7 million state-of-the-art development planned at Ashwoods will be a huge boost for sport, health and wellbeing across the county. The GAA plays a vital role at the heart of our communities, creating opportunity, pride and belonging for people of all ages. I want to commend everyone involved in driving this exciting vision forward and I look forward to supporting the delivery of this fantastic project.

Great to be at the Balmoral Show today and to meet so many people from right across our farming and rural communities. It was brilliant to walk around the different exhibitors, catch up with local businesses and organisations, and hear directly about the issues affecting people working in the sector. The Balmoral Show is always a fantastic showcase of the talent, hard work and community spirit we have here. Drop in at EK77 tomorrow if you can. #balmoralshow

The DUP, led in the Executive by Emma Little Pengelly, will not succeed in their attacks on Irish national identity, and on those who do not fit within their supremacist view of the world. Sinn Féin will continue to fight for rights and equality every step of the way. @CathyMasonSF

Humbled to stand in Enniskillen today with the inspirational #FTDBrothers, Jordan and Cian, alongside the largest crowd to date, in support of their incredible 33 marathons in 33 days challenge, raising awareness of Frontotemporal Dementia. Their campaign is shining a vital spotlight on the urgent need for greater investment in research. While there is currently no cure, without sustained funding and evidence-based research, it will be impossible to develop effective treatments and ultimately find a cure. In 2026, we must be in a place where we are moving closer to ending the devastation caused by this illness. Families affected by FTD deserve hope, support and action. Donate ➡️ theftdbrothers.com/pages/don… Good luck in Sligo tomorrow.☘️ #ftdawareness #dementiaawareness #ftdbrothers #fermanagh

🇮🇪 45 years today. The gallant Bobby Sands, on day 40 of his hunger strike, was elected MP by the people of Fermanagh and South Tyrone. A spectacular victory for the prisoners in the H-Blocks and Armagh Gaol. A seismic moment that changed the course of history.

It is heartbreaking to hear the news that a young woman’s life has been cruelly taken in Fermanagh. My thoughts are with her family, friends, and the local community as they face this unimaginable loss. We must continue to do everything we can to end violence against women and girls in our communities. We must never let up.

Delighted to attend the South West College campus in Omagh this afternoon along with my colleague Declan McAleer MLA to hear about the continued growth and success across all three sites in Enniskillen, Dungannon and Omagh. The extensive range of education, training, skills and career pathways on offer, and the strong focus on inclusivity, are a credit to everyone involved. All three campuses provide students with opportunities to develop skills, gain qualifications and build bright futures in their chosen careers. A really inspirational afternoon, finishing off with a look around some of the fantastic facilities on site.
