Awesome podcast and great to hear some leadership principles from Capt. Hill! A lot of great insight to for us non-military leaders, especially for those of us in the Fire and emergency services fields. @ChowdahHill

How to reward good work… - Pats on the back - Say “good job” - Give an award - Write them a letter - Give them coins and pins - Promote them early - Give head-of-line privileges - Publicly recognize them - Give them a cookie - Give them a second chance - Listen to their concerns - Do something about their concerns - Let them try new ways of doing business - Give them a duty-free day - Give them a day or two off - Provide new tools to do their work - Invite them to lunch - Explain the future - Explain their future - Treat them like equals… in fact, treat them like you could be working for THEM someday. What else am I missing?

It indeed is a process. Am I happy with the desired outcome? Absolutely. But it was a process to get there, and a grind. Classwork, reading, note taking, all in effort to become better, not to just attain a title. #Training #InstructorSchool #Fireman #Process
The difference between a good student and a great one is that a good student is concerned more about the outcome while a great one is fascinated by the process of learning.

Listen to both Von Miller and Josh Allen. That's team-first leadership. Von felt a sense of belonging when Josh reached out, Josh was focused on making the overall team better. That's what we strive for in our line of work. @VonMiller @JoshAllenQB @BuffaloBills #BillsMafia
