ALT We are looking for young people of colour aged 16-25, living in Greater Manchester to come and work one day a week on a paid project of your choice on the themes of ‘race’, identity and culture. Swipe for more info.
ALT Your project ideas:
Your idea doesn’t have to be fully formed, just tell us about what it is you’re interested in exploring, why, and how you you'd like to do it.
It may even be something you’re already working on or a totally new idea. All project ideas should be connected to one or a few of the themes 'race', culture and identity.
You may enjoy taking photos or art, you may want to write poetry, lyrics or stories. There may be something you’d like to research, a campaign idea you’d like to explore, or something completely different to those suggestions!
Like our work, it could look at something challenging, or it can centre joy. It’s up to you, we’d just like to help you explore, big you up, and share your work at the end of your journey.
ALT What we are offering:
A one day a week role, but it's flexible. e.g. if you are at school and would like to only do 3 hours a week, or prefer to do it in school holidays, we will make that work. Or if you need a few more hours, we can explore that too
You will be paid £13 per hour
While you are with us, you can have access to the same support as our team, like the self-care fund
If you would like more experience in a workplace and being part of some other areas of our work, we are happy to bring you into that
An office space to work in
A budget for your project and support from youth workers
If you do not have the right to work in the UK, get in touch via email first and we can explore how we can support you to run a project
ALT What we’d love for you to get from this:
A caring environment
Time and guidance from our staff and our networks
Work experience if you’d like that
Time to explore something you’ve always thought about
Joy and fun being part of the Kids of Colour team
A platform to share any outputs you may create
