I started my day by meeting with several area police chiefs to discuss how we can work together to keep our communities safe. Our primary conversation was on sharing effective strategies to take care of our officers' mental, physical, and spiritual wellness.

With the longer, hotter days, summer always seems to bring a different type of policing. Our officers are in their busiest season, but they remain laser-focused on protecting this community. The safety of this city is a result of their hard work. Thank you, Chief Ed

On June 21, the Fishers Police Department responded to the 9300 block of Benton Drive for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived to find a female victim who had been shot multiple times. The victim was holding an infant at the time. Officers immediately rendered aid to the victims until EMS arrived and transported them to a local hospital. The suspect, Giovanny Javier De Jesus De Jesus, 21, of Anderson, was known to the victim, as he is her ex-boyfriend and father of the infant she was holding. De Jesus fled the scene before officers arrived. Witnesses provided vital information regarding the description of the suspect and the car he was in. The victim underwent surgery and is reported to be in stable condition and recovering. Her infant child was evaluated for injuries and was reported to have sustained minor abrasions. While our team was working to find De Jesus, he turned himself in to the Decatur Police Department (Indiana) just before PM on June 21. The Fishers Police Department was notified, and our officers took De Jesus into custody from Decatur Police. De Jesus was transported directly to the Hamilton County Jail. We want to thank all our Law Enforcement partners who assisted with the initial scene and continued investigation throughout the evening. If you have further information regarding this investigation, please contact the Fishers Police Department 317-595-300. If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline 800-799-7233. If you are a resident of Hamilton County contact Prevail 317-773-6942. Since an arrest has been made, please direct any further questions to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office. All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Our Honor Guard presented colors at the NBA finals last Friday night. They train hard to prepare for these types of events. I want to thank them for representing our department. Now let's go to Oklahoma and crush the Thunder!

This an outstanding effort by several of our officers. This is not luck; this is laser focused police work. You can expect this from our team if you come to our city and commit crimes. Our City, Our Kids, Our Cops
FISHERS – On Thursday, June 12, Fishers Police Officers responded to the report of a residential burglary in the 16000 block of Brookmere Ave, Fishers. The victim stated that two men entered her home and attacked her. The men left the home after stealing property from the victim and fled the area in a vehicle. The victim was able to call 911 and was transported to a hospital for medical evaluation and released. Fishers Police Detectives quickly identified two suspects. After many hours of diligent effort, detectives located and arrested 24-year-old Elijah J Oates of Indianapolis on the afternoon of June 12, 2025. During an interview with detectives, Oates admitted to the crime. This morning, June 13, the second suspect, 25-year-old Daquez Stockdale of Indianapolis, was located and arrested by Fishers Police Officers. Because of the commitment by the Fishers Police Department to keep the community safe, our officers and detectives utilized every available resource to track down these two individuals. Let this be a message to criminals: crime will not be tolerated in our city. Both suspects are currently incarcerated at the Hamilton County Jail. Since an arrest has been made, please direct any further questions to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office. All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

In 2001, we started our first citizens academy. In 2004, we formed our graduate alumni association, now called our Police Corps. Today, 25 of them showed up for our pack the cruiser food donation. Thank you, Police Corps! We are grateful for your time and commitment!

Last week, our officers went through taser training. Tasers are an effective tool our officers have had available for more than 15 years. Tasers can minimize potential injury to officers and subjects during a violent confrontation.

Yesterday, I attended the Indiana SWAT Officers Association conference in Carmel. The debrief training was excellent, and the vendors were top-notch. If you are on SWAT this conference is a must-hit. It is always good to see a 251 alum; Walter Martin with Norse Tactics.

**Public Nuisance Order Impact** In 2023, the city of Fishers adopted a public nuisance order. The ordinance imposes penalties on businesses that make excessive 911 calls. We have seen great success with this ordinance, and our police force is better because of it.

This morning I spoke with a group of Fishers residents about the work our department is doing to continue to keep Fishers safe. I reminded them while Fishers is a safe city, it's very important to continue to stay vigilant by locking up your home and vehicles.
