I've successfully managed to hook @vespaengine up to Quepid, the offline relevance testing tool. This lets you try out search queries, rate the results manually for relevance, and adjust the query syntax to see how this affects things. thesearchjuggler.com/how-to-…

Vector search, in many cases, might be *actively bad* for RAG. The reason query understanding is so powerful is because it trains users to use certain affordances in your data.
