Have you read the first technical publication on extending
@eChemicles's activities towards electrochemical
#ethylene production?
Tamas Fodi and
@JanakyLab have co-authored a paper with Balázs Endrődi and Mohd Monis Ayyub from
@Uni_Szeged, which was published in
@CarbonEnergy2.
In the article, we demonstrate the electrochemical production of ethylene, n-propanol and acetate from carbon monoxide. Compared to conventional production methods, this approach represents an important step towards making the chemical industry more environmentally sustainable.
Our zero-gap electrolyser design was able to perform COR at current densities up to 1.4 A cm⁻² with a maximum C₂₊ selectivity of 90%. We demonstrated scale‐up to a 3 ×100 cm² electrolyzer stack capable of stable operation at 1 A cm⁻².
This research was partly carried out as part of the
@flowphotochem project under the
#Horizon 2020 program, where eChemicles has partnered with excellent experts from
@uniofgalway, @ITQ_UPVCSIC,
@ICIQchem,
@EPFL_CHEM_Tweet, University of Szeged,
@Johnson_Matthey, @MEMBRASENZ, @HZBde, German Aerospace Center (DLR),
@Leitat, University of Amsterdam (UvA),
@kyambogou,
@sohhytec,
@PintailLimited.
The publication also highlights not only our practical innovations, such as the world’s first containerized low-temperature CO₂ electrolyser system, our recognition by
@WEFUpLink, and our partnership with
#Bosch Thin Metal Technologies, but also our scientific excellence.
