I will never understand how so many of y'all were hoodwinked into believing the government should not use the money YOU PAY IN TAXES to create a social safety net that benefits YOU.

One year ago today, Minnesota Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were senselessly murdered in an act of political violence. In their memory, we recommit ourselves to the values that Melissa and Mark exemplified: building a kinder, more just, and loving world.

No they won’t. The tech oligarchs are the most useless set of elites imaginable. No set of rich people in American history have been as useless a drain on society as they have

The quickest way to realize we are not as clever as we think is to read someone who lived 200 years ago.
One of the hidden benefits of reading old books is that they rescue you from the arrogance of the present.

The first trillionaire being announced before the end of child poverty is not a success story. It’s a moral failure.

Pete Hegseth went on CBS this morning and argued with a straight face that America controls the Strait of Hormuz right now. These people think we’re fucking stupid.

BREAKING: Iran rejects Trump's new claim to Axios that a deal will be signed "within the next few hours," calling it "out of touch with reality" given that nothing has been finalized and no agreement exists, especially after today's Israeli strike on Beirut, per Tasnim. Iran's senior negotiating team member Marandi separately says "there will be no more negotiations for now."

NOW: Anti-Trump protesters set up "DUMP ON TRUMP" porta potties to wish President Trump a "CRAPPY BIRTHDAY" at Farragut Square, nearby the White House. The "S*** show supervisor" says the message here is to "end the s*** show" as the White House hosts a UFC match tonight.

I’ve lived in and around DC since 1993. I’ve photographed the Reflecting Pool but have never seen it look this bad. Bravo, Trump. My photos are from Obama era.

There has never been a more perfect metaphor. He didn’t drain the swamp, he literally installed one.
The Reflecting Pool is currently experiencing an algae outgrowth, indicating high pH conditions. Such a high pH is known to strip paint, potentially ruining Trump's $14M paint renovation.

EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF CONGRESS, no matter if they’re Republican or Democrat, needs to be charged with ESPIONAGE if they support &/or approve of this “merger”
🇺🇸🇮🇱 The merger between the U.S. and Israel has a third piece almost nobody is talking about. While Section 224 fuses the militaries, Section 622 moves to fuse the intelligence services... Buried in a 192-page intelligence authorization bill from Sen.Tom Cotton, Section 622 would legally require the president to "expand and enhance intelligence sharing" with Israel across nearly every topic of intelligence interest in the Middle East. It would prohibit any reduction in that sharing except for a "specific and identifiable national security concern," then force a detailed report to Congress within 15 days justifying it. Read that mechanism again carefully. It strips the president of the ability to limit what America tells Israel, then makes any attempt to do so a political fight the Israel lobby can frame as being "against Israel's security." It welds the intelligence spigot open by law. Now stack the three pieces moving through Congress at once: -The Stutzman resolution phases out visible aid. -Section 224 integrates the militaries. -Section 622 mandates intelligence sharing. Each one is less publicly accountable than the last. Aid is a line item voters can see. Intelligence liaison happens in the dark, where no price tag ever appears. The strategy is to move the relationship out of public view precisely as public support collapses. And the timing is the most scandalous part. The Pentagon just rated Israel a "critical" espionage threat. Congress's response to all of it is to legally mandate that America share more secrets with the country its own spy agencies say is robbing it. Source: Responsible States Craft / Writer: Daniel
