Though Thai doesn't use full-stops (periods) to end sentences, it uses them for abbreviations. We also need to include Latin punctuation like quotes and hyphens, and don't forget to kern them against Thai letters! @prachatai news channel using our IBM Plex Thai Loopless fonts.

IBM Plex Thai Loopless spotted in @vote62th campaign for today's Thai general election. The Looped style is also used on their website, counting the votes as they come in.

Interesting to also see they're using a looped style (not Plex Thai Looped) for headings and loopless for short paragraphs; this is the opposite of conventional typography, but maybe it works?

Some of my favourite shapes from Sanomat's Burmese. Sanomat's geometric forms lend themselves extremely well to Burmese, where circularity and symmetry are important foundations of the script.

The abundance of curves in Burmese can make fonts feel a little unstable, so we've maintained the strong vertical and horizontal terminals from the Latin and chosen sharp points for the 'rice grain' loops to add a bit of crunch.

Coming soon! Sanomat Burmese, originally designed for Grab Singapore as a Burmese extension to @commercialtype's lovely Sanomat Sans typeface. Now fully revised and remastered, we'll soon be offering it in our retail library!

Happy to see our IBM Plex Thai fonts in use by Chadchart Sittipunt, currently the leading candidate to become Bangkok's next governor in next month's election. Notice how looped and loopless styles broaden the typographic palette.

Noto Sans (Eastern) Cham was a fun project! An open-source family of 9 weights I designed in 2016-2017 for @GoogleFonts, made to coordinate with the other scripts of Noto Sans. Free download: fonts.google.com/noto/specim… (Let me know if you find any bugs)

New-ish work! Last year with @Sasikarnvongin and @Mark2Mark_one, we made looped Thai and Lao fonts for @googlefonts's Noto megafamily! Designed for readability in longer texts with a modern style to blend with the other Noto fonts. Download for free ➡️ github.com/googlefonts/noto-…

And thanks to @vangxiengvue for his invaluable feedback, especially on the Lao numerals which took an awfully long time to bash into shape!
