Whilst attention is focused on Allegra Stratton’s tearful resignation, only minutes ago, the Tories have forced through Nationality & Borders Bill that will cause immense human suffering to some of the most vulnerable people in society. Shameful. Our country is better than this.

I have absolutely no sympathy for Allegra Stratton. As a journalist, she was happy to humiliate a young, working-class single mother for the crime of being poor, and she was happy to take job for a deeply corrupt and dishonest government.
