For years Timnit has consistently set the bar and shaped the course of AI.
Power begets power and for some asking the wrong questions is sin enough.
Apparently my manager’s manager sent an email my direct reports saying she accepted my resignation. I hadn’t resigned—I had asked for simple conditions first and said I would respond when I’m back from vacation. But I guess she decided for me :) that’s the lawyer speak.

Just like that, Google lost the little legitimacy it had. @timnitGebru has been nothing but the ideal role model for Black women, an aspiration, and a towering figure that keeps pushing the whole field of AI ethics to respectable standard.
Let me be very careful since I know what I'm dealing with and they can use everything I say against me.

@WIRED given the resounding scholarly rejection of this kind of dangerous and pseudoscientific ML research (thanks to people like @Abebab, @forcriticaltech, @annaeveryday, @luke_stark and many others) why are you still breathlessly platforming these baseless claims?
