Our working party volunteers have been tackling the area around Barrans Fountain, overlooking Waterloo lake. It's going to take another outing to sort out the rhododendron beds, but the area is looking much better already! Thanks everyone
1/2 The disabled access to the council toilets at Roundhay Mansion is closed with immediate effect due to a safety issue with the floor. The toilets remain open however access is only available via an alternative entrance which is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users
2/2 or users of mobility aids. Accessible toilet facilities are available at Tropical World during opening hours. Signage will direct users accordingly. Repairs are being treated as urgent, but are subject to asbestos clearance before they can begin, which may impact timescales.
Local historian @LeedsTours is leading “The Art of the Approach” walk on Mon 13 July 7.00pm, exploring the design & Heritage of the historic route from the Gate Lodges to the Mansion. A portion of the funds will support the Lodges project.

Great litter picking session 2day, good 2 see some new members & volunteers from @LitterFreeLeeds About 20 volunteers turned out which is good for a bank holiday.
Cecily & Nisa jointly won the most unusual object competition for a rubber lizard, & a pair of knickers respectively!

A visit to the WY Archives this morning for FoRP volunteers! We were invited for a BTS tour & to see some of the documents we donated. We were also shown the Leeds Charter dating back to 1626. Thanks to Vicky our knowledgeable guide we had a lovely morning. Well worth a visit
