It’s RACISM in its purest form. White Supremacists are most threatened by accomplished and brilliant blacks. If it’s a women, misogyny AND racism are concomitantly addressed.

The disgusting remark about Mrs. Obama last night was not an aberration. For many years, the rightwing has been pushing a deeply racist conspiracy theory that she’s a trans woman, which is, of course, drawn from a dehumanizing and thoroughly absurd-on-its-face trope that Black women can’t be feminine. This particular slander against Mrs. Obama has been going on for many years, and watching some quarters of conservative media pretend to be offended by the same remark that they’ve enabled in online spaces all this time strikes me as pretty goddamn pathetic and dishonorable. But it’s not surprising. I would expect nothing different from Trump and his most ardent supporters. Any woman they don’t like—let alone hate—particularly Black women, aren’t “real women.” This is what they do. It’s not accidental. Don’t let them claim otherwise.

The White House was built to serve the American people. Tonight it was used to promote a company the President owns stock in, sell subscriptions, promote corporate sponsors, push Trump crypto, and enrich the President and his family. The founders warned us about kings enriching themselves from public office. They did not fight a revolution for this.

This is the propaganda move in its purest form: “If you hate this, you aren’t American.” Not: here is why this is good. Not: here is why the symbolism is appropriate. Not: here is why the White House should be used this way. Just a loyalty test. The image is emotionally overwhelming by design: White House, flag, flyover, cage, crowd, lights. Then the frame is imposed: Love the spectacle, or you hate the country. That is not patriotism. That is conditional citizenship. And it is especially revealing coming from the National Conservatism world, because this is exactly their project: redefine “real America” around hierarchy, spectacle, masculinity, nationalism, and loyalty to power. I can love America and still object to the White House being turned into ad inventory for a politically connected combat-sports empire. The country is not the spectacle. The republic is not the cage. The flag is not a brand asset. Do better @willchamberlain

What grinds my gears: motorcyclists who get pissed when a car is too close—while, mind you, the car is within *its* lane—as they try to drive between lanes. The driver did nothing wrong, dumbass bike rider! Who asked you to drive between two lanes of traffic anyway?

I feel like this needs to be explained to people in red hats. If it's two days before the election, and I drop a ballot in the mail, and it doesn't get there until AFTER the election, I still VOTED before the election. I still voted BEFORE all the people who voted on election day. See, there's this thing called the "space-time continuum," and that's how it works. And what has happened is that a really weird and stupid President lost the election in 2020 becuase there was a thing called "COVID" that sane people acknowledged should be avoided, but MAGAs wanted to get it to show how cool they were. And that actually changed things. Before that, Republicans always did better in mail-in voting. But did you ever hear Democrats call that cheating? No? Becuase it's not. Every legally cast vote should be counted. I honestly don't have the time or energy to debate that. This is what I mean when I say that the Republican Party is just diving all the way down the Rabbit Hole of Stupidity. You even have Mike Johnson saying that it can't be proven because California is so good at stealing elections. Imagine being elected officials, talking about elections can't be trusted.

Trump should show up here at the L.A. County ballot processing center because he’d learn within five minutes this is democracy in action, not some conspiracy.
