It's critical to focus on the particular challenges faced by children under 5 and the devastating reality that a quarter of these children are food insecure. The first priority must be to address the key driver of families' poverty (lack of income) through a
#CashFirst approach.
The @EduPolicyInst has warned children under five are 25% more likely to experience food poverty than older children and it’s driving obesity and mental health crises.
It can also affect education – food poverty is associated with worse cognitive development, maths and vocabulary skills. Find out more. ⬇️
