I have never found anything (that is marked) newer than 1964 in this area so definitely, an old-timey jar.

Here is the other 1950’s Kelloggs β€œcereal toy” hockey player that I found treasure hunting along the Fraser River. Vintage is as vintage does. Plastic is forever…
Plastic toys in β€œbreakfast cereal” boxes definitely used to be a thing. This little hockey player is from Kelloggs circa mid-1950’s. Not sure how many there were in the set but this guy is #8. Fraser River, Richmond, BC πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

If you've missed rooting around in a cereal box for a toy, you're in luck. WK Kellogg Co. announced it's including toys with some of its breakfast cereals for the first time in more than a decade. abcnews.link/WyuMPY1

Even readable newsprint from 1962 can be found exploring alongside the Fraser River. Trans-Canada Air Lines $324 return to Montreal, a news story about catching a mail thief with β€œdummy” letters, jumbo sized California cantaloupe only 2 for 29 cents, 5 digit phone numbers…

Nope, not the Fraser River Junkyard. Found this old dumping site on Vancouver Island. It’s also within’ an erosion zone and at the mercy of every high-tide. Unfortunately, plastic like this doesn’t stay buoyant for long and will create deadzones when they sink. PollutionπŸ’€πŸŸ
