My latest is live: BEST, the first of a 3-novel series. The story of Mason Best, ambitious scholarship student at Baneberry Hall, the nation's best boarding school. Or worst, depending on how you look at it. amazon.com/dp/B0CZFJTC2K/

Sure. Give the Raccoon the Sudetenland. Do it and he'll leave us alone.
A raccoon figured out that if he blocks the drive-thru, they’ll give him a donut to make him leave

This is the most compelling story ever run in my small town's newspaper and I'm not even joking

Pull this 🧵 It's short and kinda scary.
When it comes to intelligence, I don't think will see a great equalization, rather a Matthew effect: "For to every one who has will more be given..." There is definitely a correlation between your natural intelligence and the odds of you accessing cutting edge AI.

JS Bach, looking down: "Okay, but the voice leading was pretty rudimentary"
Protestants all over the world will weep tonight as they realize they aren’t capable of anything this beautiful. They will all contemplate becoming Catholic now.

The greatest confirmation of my parenting efforts finally came when my son said to me, "I now understand what double sharps are for."

Let us all defend the right of anyone to dislike any "classic" or "important" work. Your feelings are your feelings. Gaudi's strangeness is an integral part of his greatness. That some people are inevitably going to react with apathy, bewilderment, or even disgust at SF is the price he paid for following his muse. Had SF been intended for everyone, it would have been for no one.

I just want to thank @robkroese for his advice from a while back on the role of AI in writing blurbs. I've been brainstorming with ChatGPT and it's helped me devise a marketing plan for my next novel which feels, heh, novel and exciting. I'm actually EXCITED about promoting this thing. There's something inherent in marketing--an appeal to the masses, I guess--that I'm bad at and AI is unusually good at. Creatives ought not dismiss it. We'll see in a couple months what the results are.

Show me where Legolas and Gimli waved the orcs through the breach and then I'm with you 100% ;-)
A single radical Uruk-hai blew up the walls, yes. But people attacked the all of the moderate orcs who entered through the breach and who didn't blow anything up. This is Aragorn's Middle-earth.
