Even as we celebrate
#WorldDayAgainstChildLabour today, what strikes a jarring note is that we have failed our children. Though the Sustainable Development Goals were rolled out in 2016, child labour has increased from 152 million to 160 million. The international community cannot fulfill its commitment to eradicate child labour by 2025 until we are honest for our children. We understand the problems and we have also experienced how to solve them. What is urgently required is appropriate funding, education, social protection, and law enforcement measures.
