The beauty of serendipity & scientific curiosity! Did you know that Konstantin Novoselov & Andre Geim used sticky tape when they made their #NobelPrize winning breakthrough? The wonder material #graphene is now a key material for industry. Both are ERC grantees. #EUfunded🇪🇺
Who knew that sticky tape could be a valuable piece of scientific equipment? When making graphene Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov used tape to pull off successively thinner and thinner layers of carbon from graphite. Finally only one layer of carbon atoms remained: graphene.
