Grammys hot take that I think would make the nominations and the show more exciting: don’t allow any overlap between Song of the Year and Record of the Year. As is, the nominees are so interchangeable that a lot of people don’t know what the difference is in those categories.

Top 4 of the 2020s so far.
One of the interesting things I'm finding as I make my mid-decade list is how thoroughly 2020 albums dominate it. Five of the current top 10 are 2020. I was really leaning on my favorite albums that year, almost like how I did when I was young.

My take on this album is that a) it's fine actually; b) the production absolutely neuters some pretty good U2 songs; and c) people getting performatively mad about it being on their iPhones is funny given that most listeners are totally fine letting an algorithm pick their music.
