Across Nigeria, children continue to face armed attacks, abductions, and assaults on schools. Behind every statistic is a child whose right to safety, education, and a future has been stolen. From the Chibok and Dapchi tragedies to the recent wave of school attacks, the urgency is undeniable: protecting children is a national emergency. Trauma, displacement, and interrupted education are robbing an entire generation of hope. Let us be reminded that every child deserves safety, every child deserves a future. Let us speak for the safety of children, raise our voices against violence, and demand accountability. Together, we can protect children, safeguard education, and build a safer Nigeria. #ProtectOurChilddren

BTG proudly commemorated the International Day of the Boy Child in the office after the boys raised a thoughtful protest on Monday, pointing out that we often celebrate only the International Day of the Girl Child. Today, we celebrate and appreciate our boys as well. To all the boys on the team — Happy International Day of the Boy Child! 👏 @bridge_thatgap

The theme for #WorldMigratoryBirdDay 2026 is “Every Bird Counts - Your Observation Matters”, highlighting how everyday people can contribute to bird conservation through simple observations and bird counts. Birds connect our world, and you can help protect them. Your observations can make a huge difference. Happy World Migratory Bird Day #NCF #WMBD2026 #EveryBirdCounts #YourObservationsMatter

🎉 One year ago, our Executive Director, @GBulus, was honored with the titles Sarauniyar Sauyin Yanayi Chikun (Queen of Climate – Chikun) and Jakadiyar Sauyin Yanayi Kudendan (Climate Ambassador – Kudendan). Her leadership at @bridge_thatgap has continued to inspire real change; empowering women, supporting livelihoods, and strengthening communities to live more peacefully and resiliently. Today, we celebrate more than a title, we celebrate a year of impact, growth, and deeper community engagement. This milestone reminds us that the work continues. Together, we will keep advancing climate action, building resilience, and driving sustainable development across Kaduna State and Nigeria. 🌍✨ Happy anniversary 🎉 OUR CLIMATE QUEEN 👸 #Climateleadership #Climatequeen #BTGInitiative

One in 5 soil-dependent species is threatened with extinction, according to new IUCN and @ConservationOrg research. The report found another 20% are so poorly studied we don't even know their status. Soil hosts ~59% of Earth's species. It's time we paid attention. 🌱 🔗 bit.ly/4cb3on8

Advancing Environmental Governance in Kaduna State 🌱 @bridge_thatgap joined key stakeholders in Kaduna for a two-day engagement focused on reviewing the Kaduna State Environmental Policy (2019)—ensuring it is inclusive, relevant, and responsive to current environmental realities. The engagement which took place on 24th-25th April, 2026, was organised by the Ministry of Environment with support from Strengthening Peace, and Resilience in Nigeria (SPRiNG); provided a platform for stakeholders to assess the existing policy landscape, map roles and interests, and identify critical gaps its implementation. It also created space for deeper technical analysis of key issues, including: • Natural resource management (air, water, forests, biodiversity, land) • Environmental risks and climate change impacts • Pollution control and industrial accountability • Emerging cross-sectoral issues such as energy, public health, migration, and green investment. Through interactive breakout sessions, participants developed practical strategies to strengthen inclusivity and improve the effectiveness of the policy review process. The engagement concluded with a plenary session that consolidated key insights, aligned priorities, and outlined actionable next steps toward strengthening environmental governance in Kaduna State. @NigeriaSPRiNG @kdMoEnvironment @NCSEnvironment #BTGInitiaitve #EnvironmentalGovernance #ClimateAction #KadunaState #Sustainability

Spotlighting our #powerwomen unsung: @GBulus is transforming climate governance in Nigeria by training women as policy advocates, bridging between civil society and legislators, spearheading adaptation practices, and creating skills hubs for displaced women. #iwd #wic #SAO
