🕊️ Advancing Youth-Led Peacebuilding and Community Resilience On June 9, 2026, Bridge That Gap Initiative joined policymakers, development practitioners, civil society actors, youth leaders, traditional and religious institutions, and media stakeholders at the Delimi PROSPER Policy and Learning Forum; and the presentation of the Youth and Resource-Based Peacebuilding Report in Kaduna. Implemented by Engaging Borders SRD, the Delimi PROSPER Project has been instrumental in promoting youth-led preventive peacebuilding within the context of resource-based conflicts. The forum provided a valuable platform to reflect on lessons learned, examine emerging challenges, and explore practical pathways for strengthening resilience, social cohesion, and sustainable peace in Nigeria. A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Youth and Resource-Based Peacebuilding Report, a policy-oriented publication that captures youth perspectives, field experiences, implementation insights, and evidence-based recommendations for enhancing preventive peacebuilding and non-kinetic approaches to conflict management. The discussions reinforced a critical message: young people are not just beneficiaries of peacebuilding efforts—they are powerful agents of change whose voices, ideas, and leadership are essential to building peaceful and resilient communities. #YouthForPeace #Peacebuilding #SocialCohesion #CommunityResilience #PreventivePeacebuilding #BuildingPeace #BridgeThatGapInitiative #BuildingResilienceConnectingCommunities

🌿🚶‍♀️ The BTG World Environment Day Hike 1.0 was more than an activity—it was an inspiring experience.🎉 An experience of reconnecting with nature, embracing wellness, and reflecting on our collective responsibility to protect the environment. On Friday, 5th June, as the world commemorated World Environment Day 2026, Bridge That Gap Initiative chose to celebrate the day in a way that truly embodied this year's theme: "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future." Against the backdrop of fresh air, green landscapes, and the beauty of nature, participants came together to walk, connect, learn, and appreciate the environment that sustains us all. For some, the hike was therapeutic—a chance to pause from life’s routine, and reconnect with the calming presence of nature. For others, it served as a powerful reminder of why environmental protection matters and the urgent need to become more intentional about climate action and sustainable living. The experience reinforced a simple but profound truth: our environment is not separate from us; it is the foundation of our health, livelihoods, communities, and future. Every tree, every ecosystem, every clean stream, and every green space contributes to the well-being of people and the resilience of our planet. As we walked together, we were reminded that protecting the environment does not always begin with grand gestures. Sometimes, it starts with taking a step outdoors, appreciating nature's beauty, understanding its value, and committing to actions that preserve it for future generations. For BTG, the World Environment Day Hike 1.0, the message was clear: nature inspires us, climate action requires us, and our future depends on what we do today. 🌍 Let's continue to act locally, create global impact, and build a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future for all. Some very lovely photos💚 #WorldEnvironmentDay2026 #InspiredByNature #ClimateAction #BTGHike #EnvironmentalSustainability #BridgeThatGapInitiative #ActingLocallyCreatingGlobalImpact #GreenFuture #NatureForClimate

📢 Bridge That Gap Initiative at the Forefront of Shaping Nigeria’s Development Future Yesterday, Bridge That Gap Initiative participated in the Zonal Validation Workshop on the National Regional Development Policy (NRDP) 2026–2030 held in Kano State, Nigeria. The workshop, organized by the Federal Ministry of Regional Development in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and other development partners, brought together key stakeholders to review and strengthen the draft National Regional Development Policy before its submission for approval. Represented by our Executive Director @GBulus, the engagement provided an important platform to: ✅ Review the draft policy framework; ✅ Align regional priorities with state and local development plans; ✅ Strengthen coordination among government institutions and stakeholders; ✅ Validate financing, implementation, and monitoring strategies; and ✅ Secure broad-based support for the policy's successful implementation. As an organization committed to building resilient, safe and thriving communities, @bridge_thatgap is proud to contribute to conversations that shape inclusive and balanced development in Nigeria. Together, we are building stronger communities, bridging development gaps, and creating opportunities for all. #BridgeThatGapInitiative #RegionalDevelopment #NRDP2030 #SustainableDevelopment #PolicyDialogue #CitizenEngagement #NigeriaDevelopment #BTGInitiative

🌱🤝 Building Interfaith Partnerships for Climate Action in Kaduna Last week, the Bridge That Gap Initiative (BTG) team paid a strategic advocacy visit to the Kaduna State Bureau of Interfaith, where we were warmly received by the Deputy Director General, Rev. Fr. Anthony Shawuya. The meeting explored opportunities for collaboration in advancing environmental sustainability through interfaith action and community engagement. Discussions reaffirmed a shared belief that protecting our environment is a collective responsibility that transcends religious, cultural, and social boundaries. Rev. Fr. Shawuya aptly stated, that "the environment and its concerns must be everybody’s concern.” This powerful reminder highlights the important role faith-based institutions can play in promoting environmental stewardship, climate awareness, and sustainable practices within communities. We are excited about the prospects of working together to strengthen interfaith collaboration and inspire collective action toward a greener, healthier, and more climate-resilient Kaduna.🌍 #ClimateAction #EnvironmentalSustainability #InterfaithDialogue #GreenerKaduna #BridgeThatGapInitiative #Peacebuilding #CommunityEngagement #ActingLocallyCreatingGlobalImpact

🌊 World Oceans Day 2026; Reimagine Our Relationship with the Ocean. The ocean covers over 70% of the planet. It produces more than half of the oxygen we breathe, supports rich biodiversity, provides food for billions of people, and sustains millions of livelihoods worldwide. Yet, our oceans are under increasing pressure. Overfishing, pollution, and ecosystem degradation are threatening the very resources that support life on Earth. This World Oceans Day, under the theme "Reimagine", we are reminded that the ocean is not distant from us—it influences our climate, our food systems, our health, and our everyday existence. We believe that protecting our environment means protecting every ecosystem that sustains life. It is time to move beyond being beneficiaries of the ocean’s resources and become active guardians of its future: • Cut down on plastic waste, recycle responsibly, and prevent pollutants from entering waterways and oceans. • Support fishing practices that prevent overfishing and protect marine species and habitats. • Reduce carbon emissions and support climate action to combat ocean warming, acidification, and ecosystem loss. • Raise public awareness about ocean conservation and empower communities, especially young people, to take action. Together, let's reimagine a healthier, more resilient planet where people and nature thrive. #WorldOceansDay2026 #Reimagine #OceanConservation #ClimateAction #EnvironmentalSustainability #BridgeThatGapInitiative #ProtectOurPlanet #ActingLocallyCreatingGlobalImpact

🕊️International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression Today, we stand in solidarity with millions of children around the world whose lives have been disrupted by violence, conflict, abduction, exploitation, and insecurity. In Nigeria, children continue to bear the devastating consequences of armed conflict, attacks on schools, recruitment by armed groups, displacement, and denial of access to education and essential services. Every child affected is a reminder that protecting children is not just a moral responsibility—it is an urgent national priority. At @bridge_thatgap, we believe that every child deserves to grow up in safety, dignity, and peace. As we commemorate this day, we call on government institutions, security agencies, communities, humanitarian actors, and development partners to strengthen efforts to prevent violence against children, protect schools and learning spaces, and uphold the rights of every child. Protecting every Nigerian child is an emergency that demands immediate action. Together, let us build a future where no child lives in fear and every child has the opportunity to learn, thrive, and reach their full potential. #ChildrenNotTargets #ProtectEveryChild #EndViolenceAgainstChildren #InternationalDayOfInnocentChildrenVictimsOfAggression #SafeSchools #ChildProtection #BridgeThatGapInitiative #PeaceAndProtection #EveryChildMatters #Nigeria

@bridge_thatgap as a member of the Network of Civil Societies in Environment @NCSEnvironment participated in a one day women-focused training organized yesterday, June 2nd by the Centre for Water, Environment and Development (CWED)-on Regenerative and Conservation Agriculture. 🌱🌾 The training aimed to equip women with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to transition from subsistence farming to profitable, climate-resilient agribusinesses. As climate change continues to impact food systems and livelihoods, empowering women farmers with sustainable agricultural practices is critical to strengthening food security, improving incomes, and building resilient communities. When women farmers have access to the right knowledge, tools, and resources, they become powerful agents of change. Investing in climate-smart agriculture not only improves livelihoods but also strengthens food security, environmental sustainability, and community resilience in the face of a changing climate. #WomenInAgriculture #ClimateSmartAgriculture #RegenerativeAgriculture #ClimateResilience #FoodSecurity #WomenEmpowerment #EnvironmentalSustainability #BridgeThatGapInitiative #NCSE #CWED

From one school in 2022 to a growing community across Kaduna State 🌱📚 With the training manuals provided by the @ncfnigeria, @bridge_thatgap is scaling up the Green Savers Club in 2026, targeting 10 schools, with one aim- RAISING A NEW GENERATION OF CLIMATE-CONSCIOUS LEADERS. So far, 4 clubs have been established across Kaduna North and Chikun LGAs, creating safe spaces for students to learn, engage, and take action on climate and environmental issues. ❌ There are no natural disasters. 💡Disasters are not a 'natural' part of life. Natural hazards such as earthquakes and tsunamis may be impossible to stop, but the loss of life and economic damage they inflict are usually the result of human decisions. #NoNaturalDisasters
