The framing of this piece (and headline) is bit off, imho. There's a pretty good consensus that uplink enhancement is useful and suffcient backing for it, including from arch rivals Nokia and Ericsson.

When energy consumption in networks is a burning topic, the AIR 3268 from @EricssonNetwork offers pretty amazing use of spectrum with significant energy efficiency gains. Sometimes the answer is just a great product. Thanks @rcrwirelessnews for the mention & DNB for the award!

Lots of intentional (?) misunderstanding of #5G frequencies - a fully deployed network will have low,mid and highband. Lower frequencies critical for coverage, higher provides extreme capacity. Midband, ft Massive MIMO gives a blend of both - is later due to spectrum release date
