I think some people who complain about crossworlds having nick and other "unnecessary" characters forget how fucking weird the roster was last time we had a sonic racing game with crossovers. Maybe it's just me but that's always been part of the charm with the sonic racing series

The team is actually at its best with most of the bosses. Tails' long-lasting Tornado attack and Knuckles' long-ranging Tag Action are a big help (and here I even used his gliding). Having an advantage against bosses seems to be the main function of Knuckles as the partner lol

I actually experimented a bunch with this team, because I couldn't accept that it was 100% useless. I found that its best acts are Sunset Hill 1, Chaos Angel 3, and especially Ocean Base 3, which has some item boxes you can bounce on!
