Waterborne protozoan parasite Giardia lamblia can cause substantial gastric distress. A study of the microbe shows how its flagella can create a zone of negative pressure that the parasite uses to actively suction onto the small intestine. In PNAS Nexus: ow.ly/CcNZ50UwY8G
