Our "collaboration cleanse" asked 58 @asana @amazon folks to assess and subtract "digital tools." Mixed results! Most subtracted, but many felt despair after realizing that others forced them to use tools they were powerless to subtract #frictionproject hbr.org/2023/08/are-collabor…

In this episode of How to Build a Happy Life, @arthurbrooks and @rebecca_rashid explore why taking things away may be key to life satisfaction. A conversation with @Leidyklotz helps us understand the science of subtraction. on.theatln.tc/HSKHEXU

Great piece, @RebHinds and @work_matters! It was fun to discuss this work with you.
If meetings are wearing you down, don't just cancel the useless ones, redesign those you keep The meeting reset @RebHinds and I wrote about @asana saved 60 people a total of 265 hours per month 70% of time saved was by revamping meetings, e.g., shorter, less-often, smaller

Try: speed bumps, games, meeting audits, purges, subtraction movements... Tools in my @WSJ article. Like @LaszloBock’s rule @google:If more than 4 interviews were to be done with a candidate, he had to approve the exception. #frictionproject @huggyrao wsj.com/articles/bosses-staf…

We're back with a new season of #Choiceology! Today's episode unpacks our tendency to overlook opportunities to subtract things from our lives, our organizations, & even the products we design. @GabeAdams is my guest. For more, see #Subtract by @Leidyklotz schwab.com/resource-center/i…

I love this little verse/ anger is such a curse/ but the paper is paramount/ we should not discount/ that expressing it makes us look worse!

Fun fact: It’s National Limerick Day. I wouldn’t have know this either until I saw this neat limerick written about our new work on false accusations—how people think anger is indicative of guilt (when if anything it’s indicative of innocence) @katydec @GabeAdams
Jeanine was accused and got mad, But that only made her look bad. She tried to insist, But she was dismissed, Though a hunch was all that they had. hbswk.hbs.edu/item/why-anger… @lesliekjohn @HarvardHBS #NationalLimerickDay

I really enjoyed working with @katydec @lesliekjohn and Holly Howe on this paper about how people respond to being falsely accused of wrongdoing.
If you've been falsely accused at #work, try to remain calm. Research by @lesliekjohn & colleagues reveals how natural emotional reactions can lead to incorrect judgements by others. hbs.me/3xA8F13 CC: @katydec @GabeAdams @JudgeFaith @WomenofOB
