Hyundai Ioniq V - can it bring back Hyundai to the top in China?
In April, Hyundai sold 5.412 cars in China, good for the 50th spot (out of 103 brands), and a 0.39% market share.
Hyundai sells only 1 EV in China right now; the EO SUV. Cars like the Hyundai Inster, Kona Electric, or Ioniq 6 are not sold in China.
Hyundai's top was in 2012/2013, when the brand regularly sold over 100.000 cars a month, good for a top 5 position, and a market share of some 6%.
That's a huge drop, even by Chinese standards. The ultra-wedge-shaped Ioniq V is the first Hyundai sedan in a long time with a fighting chance.
