- my apartment just installed an “AI landlord” so i talk to a bot to fix my f’ing toilet

They got backlash from using AI. So they now only use it for background assets so people accept that. And sooner rather than later they will push it to more and more stuff and people still slowly just accept it. That's how it always worked. That's how micro transactions became a thing and are not considered basically a normal part in many games.
That's exactly why you should NEVER accept any of this shit. Not once.

I'm really not ok with creative work being replaced by AI.
Anyone who thinks it's ok cuz it's "just background assets" will be cool when it's more than that, too. You watch. They're literally relying on that spinelessness to get the gaming community used to accepting Gen AI.

How many times do we need to explain that it doesn't matter if it's placeholders or whatever? If it's generative, it's harmful. Gen AI is theft. It's polluting and it's making it so electronic hardware is unaffordable. If you care about even one of those things, don't defend AI

Regarding crazy taxi's AI disclosure
I'm being cautious due to how vague this disclosure is but we'll see what exactly this entails.
I do find it interesting they did acknowledge using it rather than keeping quiet about it and getting caught later.

Generative AI used at any level of development is bad, no matter how little is used. Doesn’t make devs lives easier, feeds all these insane servers making all your consoles so expensive, stop trying to compromise and actually push back when it’s not convenient.
