The Valley of Gwangi (1969) is a βDinosaur/Westernβ, a niche genre, to say the least. It was Ray Harryhausenβs final dinosaur film, and with over 300 stop-motion cuts, it set a personal record for the effects legend. The famous lasso scene alone took 2.5 months to complete.
