This is where it gets crazy, the pre-contract agreement that Veiga signed on behalf of Figo had a clause. Gosh Perez is crazy. Perez included a clause that if he wins the presidency, and Figo doesn’t come to Madrid, Figo/Veiga will pay him 30m euros😂😂😂, and Veiga signed it. When Veiga told Figo about Madrid’s interest, Figo told him to meet Barcelona’s hierarchy to tell them about the fact that a club (no mention of Real Madrid) was willing to pay off his release clause, but he doesn’t want to leave Barcelona, so they should improve his contract. Gaspert was Vice President of Barcelona then, and was contesting for presidency too. He called whatever Veiga told him a bluff, no one could pay that release clause, they also just improved Figo’s contract a year before, so he felt Figo was greedy. Anyways, the media started the rumour, it’s one of the craziest saga in football history. Figo was the biggest player in the world, everywhere went crazy. They would capture Figo’s agent in meetings with Perez, they would monitor Figo everywhere. Real Madrid players like Roberto Carlos and Hierro said they never believed it was going to happen. Figo felt under-appreciated because the hierarchy weren’t taking him seriously, but he still didn’t want to leave. Perez had now won the election. Figo said he’s not leaving Barcelona. Perez then asked Veiga to pay the 30m😂 Veiga almost ran mad, where would he get that money? Figo didn’t care, he wasn’t the one that signed the pre-contract. In case you don’t know what’s happening, quick summary. Embolo has not been allowed to travel to the US, not because of a “visa”, he holds a Swiss passport and does not need a traditional visa for short stays (up to 90 days) in the US. Switzerland is under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Instead, a Swiss citizen must obtain ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) approval online before travel. Think of ESTA as basic checks, that can also involve security checks, and this is where the problem is. Embolo was in a fight with some guys in Basel in 2018, he was convicted of making multiple threats and fined over €100k. I see no reason why you have to cuss people for their opinions, the logical thing to do is pose a contrary or superior opinion, and then you guys can argue it out. We live in a day and age where we think when you cuss someone, you have a great comeback or you score cheap points and people hail you. Be rest assured, even a mad man has fans. I have seen someone wish another man death, and the person got over 1,000 likes, most likely from people in the same club. Does that make it right? No, but people liking such tweets makes you feel good, you’re being led astray. Yesterday, someone called me a failure because our opinions differed, all for a football tweet. I’m quite used to it because my tweets travel far, and this is why sometimes, I miss the days when I had just 100 followers and interaction was between people with mutual respect. Do not lose your value over Joao Pedro that is earning 200k per week, do not make enemies over Haaland that is on 500k per week. You’re not even paid, the club and players do not even know you personally, but you’re so ready to cuss people and make enemies on their behalf, why? Are you a child? Some folks are so vile that they’ll use your personal predicament or experience to troll you because of football, ask yourself what type of human being you are. You can die as a Chelsea fan at 70 and the club or any of its players won’t have done anything for you in life, but because of them, you’ve made a thousand enemies. Even the players are friends off the pitch, that’s how foolish you look when you cuss people. Lastly, I believe any troll is probably not doing well in life or just plain stupid. Your first response to any opinion should be respect. We learn everyday, we have made mistakes, but going forward, this should be our mantra.
