Massive overhauls of GeneNetwork databases to improve speed and to prevent table locks during updates and edits. Now using InnoDB: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InnoDB

CHALLENGE: How to keep genetic and genomic data unidentifiable but sharable?@erikgarrison @pjotrprins and @RichardMott7)are making progress toward this key challenge in individualized health care. Pangenomes need protection too! Here is Erik’s latest privvg.github.io/2022/09/24/…

Several user interface upgrades and addition of icons to GeneNetwork’s main Search page today (25Sep2022). Thanks to Zach Sloan.

Great Hacker News thread on user interface design and optimization. It hard and a community effort— news.ycombinator.com/item?id…

Hey GN coding team— to say but correlations are running VERY SLOWLY today, even against BXD phenotypes. What gives? Took 262 seconds. Is one process competing with another?
Worth following Albert Rapp @rappa753 . Code we might use for improved GUIs.

I am rebuilding my #rstats blog from the bottom up with #quarto. This will let me use quarto's cool new tricks like tabs and easy columns. I've already spent hours using quarto's great docs to build a custom blog. If you want to do the same, let me show you what I did.
Cool stuff. We should add links to www. genenetwork.org. Verónica , would love to give you a tour of GeneNetwork at some point by Zoom. Oldest web service in biomedical research. Reach out at labwilliams@gmail.com

Hello everyone, I share with you some networks that I have made in different tools for network analysis. I highly recommend these tools. Greetings. #Gephi #Gephisto #VosViewer #Cytoscape #Kumu #GraphInsight #NodeXL #orangedatamining #Graphia #Graphistry #SocNetV #Tulip #dataviz

Interesting possible addition to GN.
This is where GeneNetwork shines.
As soon as experimentalist stop citing rodent studies based on a single strain of mouse or rat. That is n = 1. About 95% of studies using mouse and rat and Celegans are n = 1. What does that say about robustness of hard-core neuroscience? @DavidAshbrook @KordingLab @IBANGStweets
Great
Can't stop thinking about this pic. "Human experience of space and time in the physical world." [Eureka! by RJ Blin-Stoyle, 1997]
