I am pleased to share our work on Cavendish bananas, a clonally propagated crop. Using somatic mutations from >100 bananas collected worldwide, we reconstructed their global dissemination history and genetic microevolution under large-scale cultivation. researchsquare.com/article/r…

Many thanks to Drs. Yeonhee Park and Jeongmin Lee for providing invaluable patient cohorts and clinical insights. This work would not have been possible without Dr. Ryul Kim, who performed extensive genomic analyses.

We posted a preprint, "Clonal dynamics of monozygotic twinning in early human embryogenesis" biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…. This study revealed 3 types of identical twins ( para-, sub-, and full-identical), according to cellular lineage dynamics prior to embryonic splitting. @cjyoon__

Our work, published in Genome Research this week (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4085…), reports that APOBEC3A, not APOBEC3B, is the dominant DNA mutator in human normal cells, surprisingly. Many thanks @HFSP for support, and all authors, particularly Yohan, Ji-Hyun, Joonoh and BK!

Today I got to meet a hero of mine, Prof Eunjoon Kim (left) from @kaistpr and @IBS_media. I was lucky to mentor his former PhD student @changukchung (middle) who recently joined KAIST as a Prof. What a day!
