Cooking on gas with Waxman-Smits moisture content/resistivity relationships! 🔥
@SciPy_team minimize function working 📉
Time to expand to all @CEPHaS_Soil & @Crop_Gas soil samples to allow the estimation of #soil water content from our ERT monitoring #geophysics data ⚡💧
Awful customer service @qatarairways
Delayed for 24 hours? You are allowed 350 ml of water, 500 ml is forbidden
Contact customer service? 33 days, 5 emails, no response
Use live chat? Get cut off 4 times - the agent doesn't want to talk to you
Never flying with them again
A very productive hypothesis forming workshop was held last week. Great to see everyone in this hybrid format, and to work together on the project goals

Forbidden milkshake 🧋😋
#Soil samples made up to 150% volumetric water content, being filtered for pore water conductivity #geophysics measurements as part of the @CEPHaS_Soil project

Cracking open some more Malawian Alfisol #soil cores today for the @CEPHaS_Soil project.
Looks like a good example of an infilled termite burrow in one, and some beautiful colour gradation in another

Neat graphical output looking at crop yields by continent.
Cereals are shown in the tweet, but graphs are customisable in the link. Plenty of crop types and countries can be selected.
🌾Increasing crop yields across Sub-Saharan Africa: one of our most pressing challenges in the coming decades.

More #soilhealth testing. Water is poured in until the ground is saturated. At that point the infiltration measurement begins. This field was 6" per hour. 39 years of #no-till and #covercrops! If every field in the area infiltrated this good, we'd rarely have flooding!
To discover how we use geophysics to image water dynamics beneath a no-dig agricultural method which has been shown to increase drought resilience and may combat hunger, please join me and see our poster
