We can deal with that later but here’s what people need: • Give citizens a realistic timeline to plan around • Stop texting people whose power is off that it’s actually on — it’s driving people insane and makes you look like you’re lying about the number of people without power • Tell users you called MTE CEO & competent Florida utility CEO’s for help (no time for ego) • Hire more linemen and engineers, I know of multiple NES turned down in recent days who are professional linemen who work disasters • Post more detailed plans, ideally on video where someone normal explains what’s specifically being worked on right now and what’s being worked on next — this gives everyone realistic expectations and understanding • Use resources from state and Feds to assist with tree clearing explain you’ve done this • Regularly provide info on warming centers and transit to them — ask local gov for help with the transit for elderly and offer free transit for them until their power is back on • Stop posting tone deaf BS that ignores how angry the community is at you — own it and get to work • After it’s over, resign — it’s the honorable move

If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal. If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist. If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian. If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.

Very few of us know the people at the tip of the spear. We can make the biggest impact by uniting against the handle, making that behavior far more taboo than it is now.

I participated in a debate at the Oxford Union just two weeks after Charlie Kirk had been there. When I asked Oxford students what they thought of him, it turned out that whether they loved or hated his politics, they ALL raved about him personally. He left a mark at Oxford for his accessibility and commitment that debate should bridge gaps, not make them wider.
