Went to see the new He-Man movie with the kids, it was good! He-Man himself was likeable, the villains look great and, to everyone’s surprise, Jared Leto morbed *hard* as Skeletor, despite a sporadically malfunctioning English accent. It had its problems, of course, the script was all over the place, too many glib self owns (not to mention “butt worms” ifykyk), but I feel like it came by them honestly, out of a genuine desire to entertain, even if it did a shitty job of it from time to time. I didn’t get the impression that it manifestly hated its audience and source material, and I really do hope it gets a sequel, because there’s nothing wrong with it that couldn’t be course corrected into a very fun film franchise. Good shit, 3.5 out of 5 fists (lost half a fist for no Orko and not nearly enough Cringer -who they Surf Draculaed a bit).
