I know I have posted this before, but I will say again, super boxes are a terrible idea. It would be better if @canadapostcorp simply moved to once a week home delivery. Canada Post announces 485,000 ... cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-…

When will @CitImmCanada officers learn that they can't "career counsel". Judges have said this many times.
⚖️ Work Permit Refusal Set Aside- Khan v. Canada (Citizenship and Immigration), 2026 FC 770 The Federal Court set aside a work permit refusal where the officer concluded that a highly educated applicant with managerial experience was unlikely to leave Canada because a job as an Administrative Assistant was not a “logical career progression.” The Court noted that immigration officers should not be “career counselling” applicants and that there is nothing in the legislation preventing someone from accepting a lower-level position. The Court also found the officer failed to explain how being overqualified for a job translated into a risk that the applicant would overstay in Canada, particularly where there was evidence of financial incentives, family ties, and establishment in the home country. #CanadaWorkPermit #Immigration

There is something fishy with this story @CBCNews . You say his PRRA was approved but that he is not a "protected person". If his PRRA was approved, he is a protected person. The minor criminality might prevent PR, but it doesn't stop him being a protected person. Something...

I think that an LMIA should only be issued after a 30 day appeal period where job applicants can contest the fact they weren't hired.

Lots of stories about how the youth job market is tough, but the best in 3 years. It seems that reducing the number of foreign students is a good thing for Canadian youth. Canada’s summer job market stabilizing after years of decline, report says - G&M share.google/IRlBoOF6ZZVAaZN…

From an @CitImmCanada perspective, the World Cup draw is a mixed bag. 7 countries are eTa, 5 are TRV required, and 2 are eTA-X (Panama and Qatar). Turkiye, Egypt, Sengal and Ghana are high claim countries. It will be interesting to see how many of those nationals get tickets.

This is a very interesting story that tackles a lot of issues. Making an asylum claim nullifies the visa, but the alleged coercion to abandon the claim is problematic. My biggest problem is that this woman's claim is based on a fear of her mother. cnn.com/2026/05/29/us/ghana-…

Conservatives spreading fake news. Surprise. If CBSA removes about person within 1 year of the IRB decision, no PRRA is required. @CanBorder needs to be more efficient.
Replying to @BradRedekopp
Actually @BradRedekopp , if you knew anything about immigration, you would know that this is incorrect. @CanBorder can remove a rejected refugee claimant within 1 year of their claim / appeal without doing a PRRA. I can't believe how little MPs know.

Finally, they are taking action.
Beginning May 27, 11:59 pm EDT, we plan to suspend immigration documents for residents of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and South Sudan for the next 90 days. During this time, we also plan to pause decisions on applications from these countries. This is vital to respond to the Ebola outbreak and prevent the disease from spreading to Canada: bit.ly/3PCHdOd @GovCanHealth @CanBorder

1) Good 2) Comparing removal numbers under Harper to now is ridiculous as there are 10x more people with removal orders now. 3) CBSA is managed regionally. Quebec officers take their jobs more seriously. 4) Fast removal avoids 🇨🇦 babies. CBSA in Quebec... cbc.ca/news/canada/quebec-fa…

Actually, it was November. Despite the cuts, this was a dumb move. That said, I am told that while some floors are full, others are half empty.

Interestingly, I never found that Timmies used many TFWs in their downtown Ottawa locations. Almost like they didn't want MPs to notice what they were doing.

According to the IRB, no claims were made by Malaysians in 2025 and only 38 by Indonesians. Seeing fact based policy decisions at IRCC is refreshing.
