CS:GO is back on Steam! This is real, I did not make this up. The Global Offensive legacy branch now has it's own appid and steam page, though it is unlisted. You can access it to add to your Steam account here: store.steampowered.com/app/4… CS:GO is not supported by Valve, so they are not hosting servers, there will be no additional updates, and the community server browser is not working. This is the version of Global Offensive that existed at the time CS2 was launched, a forever shadow. The only way to join games is to manually enter the connect command in the dev console (or other such plugin externally that does the same thing) This is great as a long term solution to preserving the game. There are still communities of players who regularly play CS:GO as an alternative to CS2. Certainly, CS1.6 and Source still have their communities, so why should CS:GO be thrown into the dustbin? This should have been done in the first place, and would have shown a lot of good will towards the people who love this game.
